EXPLORE THE intersection of design and history AND DISCOVER new possibilities for modern living.

Hello! I'm Sarah Locke Gilbert. I began Grace Hilton Interior Design in 2008 and I have assisted homeowners of vintage properties to make sensitive updates and maintain original character while creating a space tailored to their needs. Among my completed projects are an Eichler Home, a Cliff May Rancho, and an A. Quincy Jones-designed house in Crestwood Hills that was featured in Atomic Ranch magazine.

My focus has shifted in recent years from interior design to residential historic rehabilitation and work as a preservation consultant. I obtained a graduate degree in Heritage Conservation from the  University of Southern California School of Architecture. I have served in a leadership role on the Los Angeles Conservancy Modern Committee Executive Council and I am currently a board member for the Southern California chapter of DOCOMOMO.

My hometown in the Ohio River Valley was once known as the Pottery Capitol of the World. I am a collector of mid-20th century ceramics produced in East Liverpool. I grew up in a Victorian era house that cultivated my appreciation for homes filled with character. My family and I now reside in Southern California in the Cliff May Ranchos of Long Beach.
